Spring 2021 Plan - All in Together

As we get closer to getting on the field, it is important that we all get on the same page about how we are addressing COVID, and understand what our shared responsibilities are for keeping our kids, families, and coaching staff safe.

Please review the following, and let us know if you have any questions at all:

  • Every family must complete a player waiver before attending their first practice. The waiver can be found here: https://forms.gle/WoWSXBrtj7dy3UwH7

  • Masks should be worn at ALL TIMES by coaches, players, and spectators - players can take mask breaks as needed during active practice or game play when they are out of proximity to other players, using caution to avoid touching the front or inside of the face covering by using the ties or ear loops to remove and replace. Masks cannot be gaiters- they need to be masks with ear loops that cover both the nose and mouth.

All parents/guardians need to stay outside of the fence surrounding the field during practices and games

  • Players are limited to 2 spectators on game days/practices

  • Help your athlete follow mitigation measures on the field. What one athlete does at home or on the field can impact the entire team.

  • Players should enter and exit the practice field using the gate that is closest to their side of the field (to avoid walking through a group of players). Teams practicing on the far side of the field (closest to woods/pond) should walk along in front of the stands, and enter/exit the gate at the far end.

  • Players must stay outside the gates to the field until the team currently on the field has left the playing surface

  • Talk to your child’s coach and let them know if your player has had a COVID exposure outside of the program or if the player has a test pending. Parkway Lacrosse will follow the advice of the local health department when contact tracing or determining when a player can return to the field. Parents/guardians and coaches will need to clearly communicate when a player has been exposed to COVID either within the program or outside of the program.

  • Players should clean or sanitize their hands before and after practices and games

  • Players arrive “ready to play” with masks on - avoiding getting changes on the sidelines

  • Absolutely no sharing of equipment or water bottles

  • Players should not come to practice if they are not feeling well and they need to tell a coach if they do not feel well during practice

  • Expect some rule modifications (i.e. no face-offs for boys when season starts) - this will certainly evolve as we go through the season

This will be a different lacrosse season than we’ve had in the past - there is no way around that. But we are playing lacrosse, and that’s a good thing. If we all work together we can keep our kids on the field.

Practice & Games Schedule

As we get closer to getting on the filed, we wanted to share some information about practice and game schedules. If you have been in touch with the program to ask about schedules over the last few weeks, you should assume THIS is the correct and final schedule.

Practice
We plan to begin practices the week of March 15th for boys and girls teams 3rd through 8th grade. Boys and girls 1st & 2nd graders will begin the week of April 12th.

Schedule is as follows:

Boys 1/2 - Wednesday 6:30-7:30pm (may add Mondays as we go at same time slot)
Boys 3/4 - Monday & Wednesday 6:30-7:30pm
Boys 5/6 - Monday & Wednesday 7:30-8:30pm
Boys 7/8 - Monday & Wednesday 7:30-8:30pm

Girls 1/2 - Tuesday & Thursday 6:30-7:30pm
Girls 3/4 - Tuesday & Thursday 6:30-7:30pm
Girls 5/6 - Tuesday & Thursday 7:30-8:30pm
Girls 7/8 - Tuesday & Thursday 7:30-8:30pm

Games
All Parkway Lacrosse games take place on Sundays for boys and girls teams 3rd through 8th grade. They will each have eight games, four home and four away. Schedules have not been released yet, but we know games will begin on April 11th for the boys program, and expect the girls program will also have their first games that weekend or the weekend prior. More information to follow.

Boys and girls 1st and 2nd graders play inter-squad scrimmages (Boys program partners with Dedham Youth Lacrosse as well) on Saturday mornings. More information to follow.
